Off-Shore Program through City University of Hong Kong

The QUT Masters in Lighting program, offered in Hong Kong, is the same 12 unit program at QUT. It comprises of PH63 Graduate Certificate in Lighting (4 units) (PDF), PH73 Graduate Diploma in Lighting (a further 4 units) (PDF), and PH83 Master of Lighting (final 4 units) (PDF). Students with an undergraduate degree may enrol directly into the Masters course. All other students can only enrol in the Graduate Certificate course and must successfully complete this first level course to before continuing on to the Graduate Diploma and Masters programs.

Students entering without an undergraduate degree will also be required to undertake some or all of the Introductory Lighting Series lectures prior to commencing their studies.

There is 1 intake per year into the program, and this occurs in September. The program is offered in trimesters in Hong Kong, and students will undertake 2 units per trimester. A unit will take about 7 weeks and lectures are held over the weekend of Week 1 and again over the weekend of either Week 3 or Week 4 of the 7 week period. Weekend teaching is usually 15 contact hours over Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday.
