Currently the Lighting group comprises of 7 students undertaking PhDs and Masters by research.

- Effects of outdoor lighting on flora and fauna in environmental impact assessment studies
- A sustainable approach to the design and management of Industrial lighting installations
- A lighting quality survey and analysis in the work place
- Development of a model for predicting light levels in city streets
- Influence of reflecting surfaces in controlling daylight in buildings
